T-ARTS, a toy brand under Japan's TAKARA TOMY Company, will release a new set of "Star Wars Pullback Droid -MOVIE LEGACY-" capsule toys in August 2024! The suggested retail price is 400 Japanese Yen per capsule, with a total of 6 types to collect.
In the vast Star Wars universe, droids are not only extremely common but also hold a significant place in various aspects of life, combat, and more. This includes protocol droids, battle droids, reconnaissance droids, as well as astromech droids, which specialize in repairing starships while also assisting with piloting, navigation, and unlocking. This capsule toy series brings together six astromech droids and incorporates a fun pullback mechanism, so they are not just exquisite models but can also occasionally engage in mini speed races on your desk!
The six types in this collection include everyone's most familiar mechanical companion, R2-D2; a weathered version recreating R2-D2's dirty appearance on Dagobah; R4-P17, assigned by the Republic to Jedi Master "Obi-Wan"; R4-G9, assigned to Obi-Wan again after R4-P17 was destroyed by buzz droids; R5-D4, which malfunctioned shortly after appearing in "A New Hope" (which is why Luke's Uncle Owen Lars chose R2 as a replacement); and R5-J2, belonging to the Galactic Empire and serving on the Second Death Star. The height is approximately 5.7 to 6.7 cm. The sculpting is quite detailed, but an additional structure has been added to the bottom to incorporate the pullback mechanism.
