Bandai Candy SMP "Voltes V (Voltes V: Legacy)" Prototype Revealed, Recreating the Five-Machine Combination from the Philippine Live-Action Version!

The popular assembly model candy toy series 'SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT', released by BANDAI CANDY, the candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., recently showcased the in-development prototype of its latest work, "Voltes V (Voltes V: Legacy)", from the Philippine live-action series 'Voltes V: Legacy'. The release date is undetermined.

In 'Chōdenji Machine Voltes V', directed by Tadao Nagahama, the protagonist machine "Voltes V" is a super robot built to combat the Boazanian Empire's giant battle machines, the "Beast Fighters". It is composed of five Voltes Machines: the Volt Cruiser, Volt Bomber, Volt Panzer, Volt Frigate, and Volt Lander. When the five machines arrange themselves in a V-formation and shout "LET’S VOLT IN!", they combine. When this work was introduced to the Philippines in 1978, it achieved over 50% viewership and was even considered one of the key factors that led the people to launch the "People Power Revolution" to overthrow the Marcos dictatorship. Nearly half a century later, the Philippine GMA Network and Japan's Toei finally adapted this work into the live-action series 'Voltes V: Legacy', which began airing in the Philippines in May 2023.

The "SMP Voltes V (Voltes V: Legacy)" is produced based on the in-series settings of the live-action drama 'Voltes V: Legacy', meticulously carving out high-density detailed sculpting on the armor surface, while also showcasing a cool body proportion and articulated joint designs for the main torso and limbs.

Weapon accessories are expected to include the "Laser Sword", "Chōdenji String", "Chōdenji Goma", and "Voltes Bazooka". Furthermore, it can also recreate the individual machine forms of the Volt Cruiser, Volt Bomber, Volt Panzer, Volt Frigate, and Volt Lander before the five-machine combination.
