To commemorate the upcoming brand new product exhibition "TAMASHII NATION 2024," confirmed to be held from November 15-17, 2024, BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collector's toy division in Japan today announced the release of the popular alloy toy series "METAL BUILD" commemorative limited edition product, the "00 Qan[T] Full Saber," scheduled for release in November 2024.
The GNT-0000 00 Qan[T] is a fifth-generation Gundam that appeared in "Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie -A wakening of the Trailblazer-," designed specifically for the protagonist Setsuna F. Seiei, a purebred Innovator. The unreleased armament enhancement plan, the "GNT-0000/FS 00 Qan[T] Full Saber," was a contingency plan developed due to concerns about the "instability of the 00 Qan[T]'s new Twin Drive output." It features the "GN Sword IV Full Saber" mounted on the 00 Qan[T]'s backpack, which stabilizes the Twin Drive System's operation. It can also transform into various modes such as a Buster Sword, Rifle, and Beam Cannon, intended to counter the invading ELS with powerful firepower. However, once equipped, it cannot activate the "Quantum System" to communicate with the ELS.
The "METAL BUILD 00 Qan[T] Full Saber" is a modified version based on the previously released "00 Qan[T]." It retains the characteristic chest GN Drive LED light-up mechanism and reproduces the armor deployment mechanism of the "Quantum Burst Mode (Regular Type)." The colors of various armor and joint parts have been completely refreshed, and a newly produced twin-support backpack and the "GN Sword IV Full Saber" armament have been added. However, since the original 00 Qan[T]'s single-support backpack is not included, its original form cannot be replicated.
Inheriting the design from the 2017 release, the 00 Qan[T] main body, supervised by designer Kanetake Ebikawa, is composed of a precise alloy movable frame and sleek, cool exterior armor, boasting flexible articulation. Armaments such as the "GN Sword V" and "GN Sword Bits" can combine into forms like "Buster Rifle Mode" and "Buster Sword Mode," just like in the series. With transparent stands and effect parts, it can also recreate the all-range attacks or defensive "GN Field" deployed by the "GN Sword Bits."
The signature armament newly added to this version, the "GN Sword IV Full Saber," adopts an original model design. In addition to the original "GN Sword IV" main body and three "GN Gunblades," a fourth "GN Gunblade" has been added, symmetrically suspended below the GN Sword IV. Furthermore, various connection parts for GN armaments are included, allowing for the recreation of attack modes from the original setting, as well as new silhouettes born from the model's original mechanisms!
