Released by Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY, the popular "Nendoroid" series, which boasts over a thousand different products, has announced its latest item from "Azur Lane," the "Nendoroid Formidable." The suggested retail price is 9,800 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in February 2025.
Formidable, belonging to the Royal Navy, is based on the Illustrious-class aircraft carrier HMS Formidable (67/R67). In the game's lore, she is the younger sister of Illustrious and Victorious. While appearing to be an elegant Royal lady on the outside, she possesses a contrasting wild personality, disliking etiquette and having her room plastered with rock star posters. Due to the shipyard miscalculating Formidable's weight, the launching cradle collapsed during her launch, causing her to launch herself. This often leads to jokes about her tonnage, even earning her the nickname "Fat Dinosaur."
The "Nendoroid Formidable" faithfully recreates her elegant Gothic-style outfit from her illustration in Q-version proportions. The skirt's abundant ruffles are meticulously detailed, and her distinctive, voluminous breastplate and extra-long twin tails are adorably rendered! It comes with three interchangeable face plates: a "Standard Face" with no expression, a "Nervous Face" with beads of sweat on her cheeks, and a "Crying Angry Face" with squinted eyes (＞＜). Pair her with afternoon tea "Strawberry Cake," the little yellow chick "Manjuu," and her "Rigging" to enjoy tea time with Formidable! Additionally, a "Nendoroid Formidable Light Armament Ver." (priced at 8,000 JPY) without rigging is also available for pre-order simultaneously!
