The robot-themed plastic model series "HG (High Grade)", launched by Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division, has announced the latest product from "Metal Armor Dragonar", the "HG 1/144 Dragonar-3 (Lifter-3 Equipped Type)", scheduled for release in October 2024.
The XD-03 Dragonar-3 is a D-Weapon piloted by Light Newman. While its combat performance is lower than Units 1 and 2, it is an electronic warfare unit specialized in reconnaissance, jamming, and command functions. Its head radome houses various high-performance precision electronic instruments, capable of not only detecting enemy positions over a wide range but also directly interfering with or even hacking into enemy computers to support Units 1 and 2 in combat. This unit can be equipped with the dedicated flight equipment "Lifter-3" for stable flight both within and outside the atmosphere.
The "HG 1/144 Dragonar-3 (Lifter-3 Equipped Type)" is being released as an HG kit for the first time, utilizing the latest modern technology. Through color separation and part division techniques, the unit's color scheme is largely reproduced with molded parts and some stickers, featuring intricate detail sculpting and flexible articulation. The "Lifter-3" flight equipment mounted on the back includes movable main wings and thruster nozzles, allowing for the recreation of takeoff and landing, as well as stowed standby poses.
In terms of weaponry, in addition to the 50mm handheld railgun LPS3 type and two assault knives, a completely new, powerful large weapon, the "Photon Bazooka," is included. It comes with a red single-core cable part to connect to the Dragonar-3's main body. The muzzle part is produced using REFLECTION CUT technology, featuring intricate honeycomb processing to further enhance the reflective effect of the clear parts.
