The 1/144 scale Gunpla "HG (High Grade)" series, known for its diverse range of mobile suits, launched by Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division, today announced the latest product from "Mobile Fighter G Gundam," the "HG 1/144 Dragon Gundam," scheduled for release in November 2024. This product will be exclusively sold on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The Dragon Gundam is the mobile fighter utilized by Neo China's representative, Sai Saici, during the 13th Gundam Fight. It boasts excellent mobility and agility, equipped with a total of 12 close-combat weapons called "Feilong Flags," as well as extendable dragon-shaped arms with built-in flamethrowers. It can adapt to various challenging terrains, allowing Sai Saici to unleash his Shaolin Kung Fu techniques such as Baohua Jiaodian, Wuying Jiao (Shadowless Kick), and the Shaolin Temple's strongest ultimate technique, "True Meteor Butterfly Sword."
The "HG 1/144 Dragon Gundam" is developed using Bandai's latest technology, featuring precise styling details, color separation, and articulation mechanisms that meet modern HG standards. It largely recreates the design's combination of dragon motifs and Chinese armor, along with its rich yellow, green, white, and red colors, allowing for dynamic poses that showcase Shaolin Kung Fu's agile combat style.
Through interchangeable parts, the Dragon Gundam can recreate the "Braid Blade" (暗器「辮髪刀」), a hidden weapon mounted at the end of its helmet braid, the Feilong Flag's long staff and spear modes, and the extended state of its twin dragon claws. Furthermore, the Core Lander on its back can be separated and transformed into flight mode. In addition, the product includes original mechanism parts conceived by "Mobile Fighter G Gundam" anime director Yasuhiro Imagawa, allowing for a powerful depiction of the special move "True Meteor Butterfly Sword" with original effect parts!
