American toy giant Sideshow Collectibles announced early this morning (22nd) the latest product from the sci-fi epic "Star Wars" and the Scum & Villainy series: the "Greedo" 1/6 scale figure! Both a regular edition and a limited edition will be released simultaneously, with an estimated shipping date between April and July 2025, and a suggested retail price of US$280.
Greedo is a Rodian bounty hunter, whose most iconic scene in the series is in the Mos Eisley Cantina sequence from "A New Hope." Hired by Jabba the Hutt, the crime lord of Tatooine, Greedo cornered a solitary Han Solo, stating that Jabba had placed a high bounty on him, and threatening Han Solo to hand over the money, perhaps sparing his life. However, due to his excessive chatter, he was shot dead by a calm Han.
Although his screen time was brief, Greedo left a deep impression on many veteran fans with his highly memorable appearance and despicable personality. If one were to mention alien villains in the Star Wars story, Greedo would certainly be on the list. The editor himself also collects Greedo's 6-inch figures, carded toys, and LEGO minifigures.
This piece meticulously recreates the Rodian's highly distinctive head, from the large eyes, the antennae and surface bumps on the top of the head, and pointed ears, to the slender mouth, all rendered with remarkable realism. The green skin, featuring excellent gradients, also conveys a rich sense of organic life. The costume is sewn from fabric materials, faithfully reproducing the striking turquoise and cream color combination as seen in the film. The leather texture of the belt and holster, the weathered scratches on the belt buckle, and the texture of the brown vest... all possess a realistic feel. Of course, the long, slender fingers are also accurately reproduced.
