" from the affordable pre-painted figure series POP UP PARADE L Size by Japanese brand GOOD SMILE COMPANY, a new product based on the classic anime《攻殼機動隊》(Ghost in the Shell) has been released: the "Motoko Kusanagi 1995 Ver. L size" non-scale pre-painted figure, produced by model maker Max Factory. It has a suggested retail price of 8,800 JPY and is scheduled for release in March 2025!
Released in 1995,《攻殼機動隊》(Ghost in the Shell) is an animated film produced by Production I.G. and directed by renowned animation director Mamoru Oshii, adapted from the manga of the same name by Japanese manga artist Masamune Shirow, first serialized in 1989. The story depicts a highly technologically advanced world where people and machines merge to form a new social structure, revolving around the special unit "Public Security Section 9" responsible for combating crime and terrorism. The protagonist, Motoko Kusanagi, suffered severe body damage due to an accident in her childhood. To save her life, her brain was transplanted into a mechanical body, equipped with the most advanced military prosthetics. She is an excellent hacker in Public Security Section 9.
