Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya has announced that the latest product in its popular "Frame Arms Girl" plastic model kit series, "Izumo," is scheduled for release in February 2025.
The Frame Arms Girl "Izumo" is based on the battleship-type Frame Arms mecha of the same name, designed by mechanical designer Takayuki Yanase. Illustrator Fumikane Shimada has transformed it into a beautiful girl, continuing the eye-covering short hair design of its sister unit Kongo. Its full body armor integrates the cool armored silhouette of the original Frame Arms unit, and heavy weaponry and transformation mechanisms are incorporated into the articulated body.
The "Frame Arms Girl Izumo" features an articulated body standing approximately 17.5 cm tall, with a new articulation structure that recreates the high-cut design of the lower abdomen. While maintaining the body's curves, movable waist armor has been added to enhance the range of motion for the thighs. Accessories include three pre-painted new expression parts, head and limb parts for recreating the unarmored body state, and 5 pairs of sculpted hands, allowing for dynamic posing.
By replacing the head and limbs and equipping various armaments, the "Armed Mode" can be recreated. In addition to the handheld rifle, the movable arm connected to the backpack can mount a deck shield for unmanned combat aircraft, a missile pod with a hatch deployment mechanism, and other weapons. Through various armor parts and articulation mechanisms, it can transform into "Cruise Mode," or be freely reassembled to recreate various other forms.
