From Japan's MECHA SMILE brand's "MODEROID" model kit series, following "Tetsujin 28-go", they have once again announced the latest product based on the classic robot anime "Tetsujin 28-go": "MODEROID Black Ox (First Generation Tetsujin Version)", with a reference price of 3,900 JPY, scheduled for release in February 2025.
The Great Tetsujin's rival, Black Ox, is a giant robot created by the mad scientist Dr. Franken, with the goal of making "a robot stronger and capable of thought than Tetsujin." Its jet-black armor is incredibly cool, and it is equipped with an electronic brain capable of highly autonomous action, as well as a built-in radio jamming device that can cause remotely controlled robots to malfunction and become immobile. Its heat ray possesses the power to melt strong armor, and its formidable performance makes it a powerful adversary for Tetsujin.
"MODEROID Black Ox (First Generation Tetsujin Version)" transforms the design of the first generation into a model kit. Once assembled, it stands approximately 165 mm tall, faithfully recreating Black Ox's characteristic jet-black armor. The overall design is also quite rounded and sleek. By assembling the various molded colors and some pre-painted parts, you can reproduce its appearance closely resembling that in the show! Flexible articulation is incorporated into all joints throughout the body, and interchangeable hand parts are also included, allowing for a wide range of dynamic combat poses.
