Hasbro, the renowned American toy brand, through its HasLab division which issues high-priced, large-scale collectibles via crowdfunding projects, has unveiled its latest crowdfunding initiative to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the classic film Ghostbusters. This project, the "Plasma Series Ectomobile (Anniversary Edition)," offers two versions: the basic Ecto-1 and the deluxe Ecto-1A. The project has already launched on the HasLab page of the Hasbro Pulse official website. In this article, we will focus on the deluxe version, which centers on the sequel!
This crowdfunding project is divided into a basic version at US$324.99 and a deluxe version at US$399.99. Crowdfunding will be open until 12:39 PM Taiwan time on December 3, 2024, with a fundraising goal of 12,000 supporters, and is expected to ship in Winter 2025. The Ectomobile itself measures approximately 57.1 cm long and 20.5 cm wide, a super-sized model capable of accommodating 6-inch Ghostbusters series action figures!
The deluxe version introduced in this article features the improved "Ecto-1A" design from the sequel Ghostbusters II and the IDW comic series. The vehicle body also features dynamic body lighting effects, and building upon the original Ecto-1, it adds vibrant roof neon lights and marquee accessories. The paintwork also includes new caution tape-like patterns.
The figures included are the Library Ghost and Slimer, with the additional inclusion of the four team members from the second movie, dressed in black Ghostbusters uniforms: Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore. Also included are four sets of proton pack backpacks, proton stream effect parts, and accessories from the movie such as a toaster and balloons, allowing you to recreate their appearances while dealing with paranormal incidents in the film!
