To commemorate Godzilla's 70th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the film "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla," Hong Kong toy manufacturer threezero has officially unveiled the first product in its brand-new "KAIJU-DOU" series: the "Godzilla (1974)" articulated figure. The suggested retail price is yet to be announced, with an estimated release in Q2 2025!
Released in 1974, "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla" (ゴジラ対メカゴジラ) is the 14th film in the Godzilla series. In the movie, Godzilla teams up with King Caesar to battle the heavy mechanical weapon "Mechagodzilla," built in Godzilla's image by the Third Planet Aliens who are desperate to invade Earth!
threezero's new "KAIJU-DOU" series, announced last year, focuses on various monsters. Inheriting the spirit of its sister series "ROBO-DOU," it utilizes a composite material skeleton of alloy and plastic, covered with soft vinyl, to exquisitely recreate the powerful presence of monsters as seen in films!
This KAIJU-DOU Godzilla (1974) articulated figure stands approximately 22.9 cm tall. Sculpted by Kenji Oka, it faithfully recreates Godzilla's distinctive round-eyed appearance from the film. Utilizing KAIJU-DOU's high-quality soft vinyl over an alloy skeleton technique, it reproduces the visual effect of a tokusatsu actor in a suit. The figure features 26 points of articulation throughout its hands, feet, mouth, and tail. Furthermore, two built-in buttons activate the dorsal fin's light-up function and Godzilla's roar, recreating the moment before Godzilla unleashes its atomic breath. It can also be posed with the atomic breath effect part to powerfully recreate its actual attack stance!
Additionally, the accessories include two sets of interchangeable hands and a bent electrical tower model, allowing for more dynamic displays that vividly recreate its appearance in the film!
