Riding high on the success of the video game adaptation "Fallout," Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed it is moving forward with a live-action television series based on BioWare's acclaimed video game franchise, "Mass Effect." Daniel Casey, known for his work on "Fast & Furious 9," is set to pen the script and serve as an executive producer for the upcoming series.
Speculation about Amazon MGM Studios (then Amazon Studios) developing a live-action "Mass Effect" adaptation has circulated since 2021, with reports indicating lengthy negotiations with BioWare's parent company, EA.
Now, not only has the lead writer been confirmed, but "Mass Effect" game producer Mike Gamble will also join Ari Arad as an executive producer on the series. Further details regarding the storyline, cast, and director have yet to be announced.
