Late last month, reports surfaced that the 2007 horror film "1408," adapted from Stephen King’s short story of the same name, was getting a sequel, with original stars John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson expected to reunite. Variety has now revealed that "The Lord of the Rings" star Elijah Wood and "Stranger Things" actress Natalia Dyer are also joining the cast.

According to Variety, Cusack and Jackson will return in supporting roles, while Wood will also play a secondary character. Dyer is set to lead the sequel, though plot details remain under wraps.
Behind the camera, original director Mikael Håfström had already been confirmed to return. Variety added that Mark Verheiden, whose television credits include episodes of "Daredevil" and "Constantine," will co-write the screenplay with Håfström.
