Spearheaded by producer and star Sylvester Stallone, "The Expendables" franchise has turned each installment into an action-packed reunion featuring veteran stars from around the world. Yet even after four movies, several legendary names have never joined the series. One of the most frequently requested is martial arts veteran Steven Seagal, but despite years of fan demand, his appearance has never materialized.

Seagal and Stallone have discussed the possibility before. Seagal previously acknowledged that he had received an offer but turned it down because he did not like some of the people involved with the franchise. Stallone also once confirmed that Seagal had been in talks to appear in the first movie, but the discussions fell apart after the actor clashed with a producer. Seagal was approached again for the third installment, though those negotiations also went nowhere.

During a recent appearance on "The Rest Is Entertainment," Stallone was asked whether Seagal had truly rejected the franchise. Stallone bluntly disputed that version of events, insisting Seagal had actually been desperate to join. “Oh, please. Let’s just say he was not invited to that party. My God, really? He said he turned us down? How about I tell you he was begging to be in it—begging and begging. I shouldn’t get involved in this, but why lie like that? Listen, I’ve got nothing against Steven. We’ve had our moments... But I don’t even know if he still makes action movies. I think he lives in Russia now.”
