Issued by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectible toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou)" series, which sculpts from the skeletal structure to give tokusatsu heroes their original cool appearance and natural articulation, has announced the confirmed release of its latest product from the tokusatsu series "GARO", the "Golden Knight Garo (Kouga Saejima) GARO 20th Anniversary Ver.". Detailed product information will be announced at a later date.
In the first work of the series, "GARO", the protagonist Kouga Saejima is a Makai Knight who inherits the golden armor and can transform into the Golden Knight Garo, known as the strongest in the series. Through powerful martial arts and purification abilities, he resolves the "Inga" (shadows within human hearts) and battles the demonic beasts "Horrors". His weapon is the Garoken, a sword with a golden hilt and scabbard. Besides its sharp blade for cutting down enemies, when encountering large Horrors, he can summon the magical horse Gouten for support, transforming the Garoken into the even larger "Garo Zanbaken" to confront them.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the "GARO" series broadcast, the "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Golden Knight Garo (Kouga Saejima)", originally released in 2018, will be re-released as a revised edition. From the currently revealed preview images, the content is essentially the same as the 2018 original, faithfully reproducing the intricate and beautiful carvings on the full body armor and including a fabric cape with an embedded metal wire. However, the golden parts throughout the body appear to have changed from the original electroplating process to gold paint, with a color tone leaning towards an elegant champagne gold.
