BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS has officially announced the story background and settings for its brand-new original project『MECHA＋I THE STORY OF REG4 UNIT』, with model products, manga works, and various other content scheduled for sequential release within 2025.
The story background of 'MECHA＋I THE STORY OF REG4 UNIT' is set in a fictional future world where humanity has developed advanced technology, coexisted with androids, and established bases on the moon for exploration. Suddenly, unknown atomic lifeforms attacked Earth, leading to humanity's demise. A century later, the surviving androids continued humanity's technological advancements, creating "Humarians"—next-generation androids with human-like structures and hearts—and "REG4s"—four-legged AI mecha beasts designed to combat the atomic lifeforms.
The protagonist of the story is a Humarian mecha girl named ARIA EVELIS. Living in the 4th Protected Area, she is unfazed by being mocked as "Useless ARIA" and continues to live a peaceful life. That is, until the night the 4th Protected Area was attacked by atomic lifeforms, and ARIA, piloting the AI mecha beast "AXIOS", was drawn into a fated battle against them.
Recently, TAMASHII NATIONS has showcased S.H.Figuarts action figures of the protagonist ARIA and her dog companion BIGS, as well as a prototype action figure of the AI mecha beast "AXIOS" piloted by ARIA, with release dates yet to be determined. Concurrently, the manga series "MECHA＋I" is also scheduled to begin serialization on the 'bandanacomic' website within 2025.
