From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company's collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, the ultra-high-end alloy finished model series 'METAL STRUCTURE KAI-TAI-SHOU-KI' today at the TAMASHII NATION 2024 annual brand exhibition, revealed the latest prototype of 'RX-178 Gundam Mk-II' from 'Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam', with release date yet to be determined.

In Universal Century 0087, the Earth-supremacist radical elite unit of the Federal Forces, the 'Titans', to assert their authority as more legitimate than the pro-space faction 'AEUG', excluded engineers with Zeon backgrounds and selected protagonist Kamille's father, Franklin Bidan, to lead the development. They developed the successor to the iconic 'RX-78 Gundam' series, which turned the tide of the One Year War, the 'RX-178 Gundam Mk-II'. It possesses an extremely similar external appearance, but the entire unit is constructed using the latest contemporary technology. Among its features, the implementation of a 'movable frame' significantly increased its mobility, expandability, and ease of maintenance.

Compared to the prototype exhibited last year, this year's 'METAL STRUCTURE KAI-TAI-SHOU-KI RX-178 Gundam Mk-II' further showcased more details of its internal frame and the head's illuminating twin-eye camera mechanism. One can observe that the internal mechanical structure is composed of multiple intricate metallic-colored parts. Through complex armor deployment mechanisms, maintenance crew figures, and a display base, it depicts the mobile suit in a state of maintenance.
