The suggested retail price is 139,000 JPY, with an estimated release in July 2025. In 2022, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Tokyo National Museum, a collaborative restoration fundraising project "Dancing Haniwa & Looking Back Beauty Restoration Project" was launched, featuring 15-year-old Hatsune Miku. The main cultural assets to be restored are the "Dancing Haniwa" and the masterpiece "Looking Back Beauty (Mikaeri Bijin-zu)" by Hishikawa Moronobu, the Edo period painter considered the founder of Ukiyo-e. This project also involved collaborating with illustrator Rella to reinterpret the Looking Back Beauty painting in a Hatsune Miku version.
The "Hatsune Miku Looking Back Beauty Miku Ver. - Kyugetsu Collaboration Japanese Doll -" is a collaboration between Japanese dolls and figures, bringing illustrator Rella's "Looking Back Miku" to life in three dimensions, in partnership with Kyugetsu, a leading Japanese doll manufacturer! Standing approximately 28 cm tall, it is handcrafted by Kyugetsu's doll artisans. Her gorgeous red furisode kimono is recreated using actual textiles, with delicate embroidery of traditional Japanese patterns such as cherry blossoms and chrysanthemums, showcasing an even more splendid and noble quality.
Miku's head and fingers are sculpted to reproduce the delicate touch depicted by Rella. Her bangs are swept up, and her striking twin-tails flow naturally; Miku's innocent expression as she looks back, with her flushed cheeks, is utterly captivating, exuding grace and beauty. This truly conveys a dream collaboration between traditional craftsmanship and modern culture!
