American toy manufacturer McFarlane Toys' DC Multiverse series recently unveiled a new product based on the 2019 film "Joker": the "Live with Murray Franklin" Deluxe Limited Edition Diorama Set. The suggested retail price is US$249.99, with an estimated release date of March 2025!
The 2019 film "Joker," directed by Todd Phillips and co-written by Scott Silver, reshaped the familiar DC Comics supervillain, portraying Gotham City from a perspective closer to the struggles of the lower class. It depicts the mentally ill protagonist, Arthur Fleck, being crushed by society and life, gradually falling into an abyss, and transforming into the "Joker," a symbol of chaos and rebellion.
This "Live with Murray Franklin" diorama set brings to life the iconic scene from the end of the film where Arthur, as the Joker, appears on the Murray Franklin show stage. It includes 7-inch articulated figures of the Joker and talk show host Murray Franklin. At this smaller scale, the facial features of actors Joaquin Phoenix and Robert De Niro are faithfully recreated, and both figures are sculpted in their sharp suit attire. Arthur's figure also comes with two sets of interchangeable hands and alternate expression parts, offering more display options!
The diorama focuses on meticulously reproducing various details on the right side of the studio set, including the show's logo, the faux night cityscape, windows, chairs, potted plants, and objects on Murray's desk such as his mug and microphone. Accessories also include Arthur's diary and a handgun. Paired with the blood-splattered expression part, collectors can recreate the classic scene where he loses control and shoots Murray in the head!
