Produced by Japan's PLEX company and distributed by X-PLUS company, the popular soft vinyl figure series "DEFOREAL", which incorporates exquisite realistic details into a cute deformed (Q-version) proportion, has announced its latest product from the movie "Godzilla Minus One", the "Godzilla (2023) Heat Ray Emitting Ver.", scheduled for release in February 2025.
The Godzilla (2023) that appeared in "Godzilla Minus One" was originally an ancient creature resembling a dinosaur, 15 meters tall, inhabiting the deep seas around Odo Island, referred to by local residents as "Gojira". However, in 1946, after World War II, nuclear tests conducted by the US military near the Bikini Atoll caused Gojira to mutate and grow into a 50-meter tall Godzilla. Its exaggerated regenerative abilities allowed it to recover instantly even after being bombarded by warships, and it could emit nuclear bomb-level high-power heat rays from its mouth.
The "DEFOREAL Godzilla (2023) Heat Ray Emitting Ver." is a modification based on the previously released standard version. It utilizes newly sculpted parts for the head, arms, and other areas to recreate Godzilla's posture with its mouth wide open, preparing to emit its heat ray. Blue gradient paintwork is applied inside the mouth and on the dorsal fins to represent the accumulated energy. Even with its charming low-head-to-body ratio, the entire body's rough, rock-like skin retains realistic details, and the rapidly healed scar on its left cheek after being bombed is also reproduced.
