Japan's SQUARE ENIX has officially announced a new series of articulated action figures, "PLAY ARTS True", evolving from the "PLAY ARTS Kai" line. The first product will feature the popular character "Vincent Valentine" from the game "Final Fantasy VII Rebirth", scheduled for release in August 2025.
Vincent Valentine was originally a member of Shinra Company's special operations unit, the "Turks." He fell in love with Lucrecia, who was his assistant at the time, but Lucrecia chose to marry Professor Hojo. She even allowed herself and her unborn child, "Sephiroth," to become experimental subjects for Jenova cell implantation. Vincent, attempting to stop this, was instead transformed into an immortal monster. From then on, Vincent chose to seal himself in a coffin to atone for his sins, but at the time, he did not yet know that this immortal body was actually bestowed upon him by Lucrecia to save him from dying.
The "PLAY ARTS True Vincent Valentine" figure is sculpted based on his updated costume design from "Final Fantasy VII Rebirth," faithfully recreating his sharp, crimson eyes and the metallic armor details on his left arm and legs. His burgundy cape is made of fabric material and features an internal wire, allowing for adjustable posing.
While maintaining the approximately 30 cm tall, 1/6 scale of the previous "PLAY ARTS Kai" series, "PLAY ARTS True" incorporates newly designed hip joint structures and various articulation parts. This enhances the smooth feel when posing the joints and expands the range of motion for each articulation point. Furthermore, a new movable eyeball mechanism has been added to the head, allowing for adjustment of Vincent's gaze, enabling dynamic combat poses when combined with the figure's flexible articulation, pistol, and various interchangeable hand parts.
Accessories include a newly designed dedicated display stand, featuring a hexagonal base with a character nameplate, and can be used with both fixed and movable support arms to showcase the character.
