BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, which issues the "METAL ROBOT魂" series combining metallic texture coating and an alloy frame, today announced the latest product from the new Gundam series anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX", the "GQuuuuuuX", slated for release in August 2025.
The new anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX", a collaboration between two major animation studios, khara (Evangelion series) and SUNRISE (Mobile Suit Gundam series), is scheduled to launch media and product projects sequentially in 2025. This work brings together veteran staff including Kazuya Tsurumaki, director of "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition", mechanical designer Ikuto Yamashita, and scriptwriters Yoji Enokido and Hideaki Anno. It also features illustrator Take, known for character designs in the "Pokémon" series games, as the character designer. The protagonist, Machuu, is voiced by the talented voice actress Tomoyo Kurosawa. This dream lineup is not only highly anticipated but also promises exceptional animation quality.
The story of "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" centers on the protagonist, Yoha Amate, a high school girl living a peaceful daily life in a space colony, who always feels a sense of unreality. One day, she encounters Nean, a refugee girl, and by chance becomes the pilot of the mysterious mobile suit "GQuuuuuuX". She is then drawn into an illegal MS duel competition called "Battle Group Duel". From then on, Yoha adopts the alias "Machuu" and dedicates herself to intense daily battles.
The "METAL ROBOT魂 GQuuuuuuX" reproduces Ikuto Yamashita's unique design with sharp, high-resolution sculpting and an alloy movable frame. The entire body features rich color application and tampo printing to create complex colors and lines, imparting a high density of detailed information.
Parts of the movable frame are made of alloy, reproducing unique structures such as single-axis joints at the elbows and knees, and feet equipped with large thruster nozzles, providing both a metallic texture and a sense of weight when handled. Furthermore, the spherical components on the outer shoulder armor and the tubular thruster nozzles on the backpack feature movable mechanisms to reduce interference with the main body's articulation.
Weapon accessories include a dedicated stand, an axe-type melee weapon, a beam rifle, a dedicated shield, and a scimitar-type beam melee weapon, which can be combined with the main body's flexible articulation to recreate various dynamic battle poses from the series.
