The low-head-to-body ratio character figure series "Figuarts mini", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, today announced three new products from the new Gundam series anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX": "Amano Yoha (Macho)", "Nean", and "Shuji Ito", slated for release in May 2025.
The new anime work "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX", co-produced by two major animation studios, khara from the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" series and SUNRISE from the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, is scheduled to launch media and merchandise projects sequentially in 2025. This work brings together veteran staff including "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition" director Kazuya Tsurumaki, mechanical designer Ikuto Yamashita, and scriptwriters Yoji Enokido and Hideaki Anno. It also features illustrator Take, known for designing Gym Leaders in "Pokémon Sword and Shield", as the character designer. The protagonist, Macho, is voiced by the talented voice actress Tomoyo Kurosawa. This dream lineup is not only highly anticipated but also promises exceptional animation quality.
The protagonist of "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX", Amano Yoha, is a high school girl living a peaceful daily life in a space colony, always feeling a sense of unreality. One day, she encounters Nean, a war refugee girl, and accidentally becomes the pilot of the mysterious Mobile Suit "GQuuuuuuX". She then gets embroiled in the illegal MS dueling competition "Battle Group Showdown". From then on, Yoha adopts the alias "Macho" and dedicates herself to intense daily battles. Meanwhile, a boy named Shuji, piloting a mysterious MS called "Gundam", appears before them, pursued by military police.
"Figuarts mini Macho / Nean / Shuji" transforms the low-head-to-body ratio Q-version designs of the three main characters into figures approximately 8-9 cm tall. They faithfully recreate the costume designs and vibrant colors created by illustrator Take. Joints are incorporated in the shoulders and hips for slight articulation, and interchangeable hand parts allow for varied posing. Macho and Shuji also come with mechanical companions like "Haro" and "Kunchi", respectively, for display.
