Japan's M.I.C. Co., Ltd.'s (株式会社エムアイシー) original toy brand "DIG" (ディーアイジー), under its action figure series "DIGACTION," will release a very interesting new product: the "Columbia Pictures Torch Lady" 1/24 scale action figure. It will have a suggested retail price of 7,700 JPY and is scheduled for release on May 31, 2025!

Columbia Pictures, a film and television production company under Sony, is one of the oldest film studios in the United States. Since 1926, it has used the Torch Lady as its iconic opening logo. Over the years, it has gone through various versions. The realistic and clear image that movie fans are now more familiar with was drawn in 1992 by New Orleans artist Michael J. Deas, using New Orleans newspaper graphic designer Jenny Joseph as the model. The scene in the 2019 film "Zombieland: Double Tap" where the Torch Lady uses her torch to beat two zombies in the opening sequence caused quite a stir online!

This DIGACTION Columbia Pictures Torch Lady action figure stands approximately 8 cm tall. Despite its small 1/24 scale, it meticulously recreates the Torch Lady's appearance, sculpting the elegant drapery details of her gown, her iconic facial features, and slender arms. The skirt is cleverly divided to minimize impact on articulation. The blue fabric draped around her arm also has an opening in the middle, which can be concealed when posing her in the classic logo stance, while also ensuring her left arm can be removed for various dynamic poses. This release will also include a stepped display base and a backdrop printed with "COLUMBIA" and sky imagery. Coupled with the translucent colored torch, it perfectly recreates the iconic movie intro that all fans are so familiar with!
