Known for his frequent scoops and highly accurate reporting, prominent entertainment journalist Daniel Richtman has once again unveiled the latest developments across various Disney-owned IPs on his Patreon page. Regarding the Marvel Cinematic Universe, sources indicate that both Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are reportedly targeting Anya Taylor-Joy for a role in the upcoming "Spider-Man 4."
Taylor-Joy, who previously starred in the "X-Men" spin-off "The New Mutants" a few years ago, has consistently been rumored for various Marvel roles. Media reports have suggested she was previously in talks for characters like the female Silver Surfer in next year's "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" and even Spider-Man's love interest, Black Cat. Richtman, however, did not specify if "Spider-Man 4" is eyeing her for the Black Cat role again.

Furthermore, while Hugh Jackman has long been rumored to continue his role in "Avengers: Secret Wars," Richtman now indicates that "Secret Wars" might not mark his final appearance. Marvel reportedly plans to retain Jackman beyond the conclusion of "Secret Wars," arranging for him to continue sharing the screen with Deadpool. Shifting to the "X-Men," Richtman also mentioned that Marvel is actively seeking a director for a new "X-Men" film, with the storyline reportedly set to unfold after the events of "Secret Wars."
Finally, a new "Star Wars" scoop suggests that Disney and Lucasfilm have set their sights on Tom Hiddleston for a significant role in an upcoming "Star Wars" film. Richtman, however, did not specify which particular project Hiddleston is being considered for.
