BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division has officially unveiled CG images for the latest product in its 'HG (High Grade)' robot model kit series, the "Ashsaber", from "Super Robot Wars OG". It is scheduled for release in June 2025.
First appearing in "Super Robot Wars A", the ASK-AD02 Ashsaber was one of the initial real robot protagonist units players could choose. Although its HP, armor, and maximum attack power were the lowest among the five protagonist units, its extremely high mobility provided excellent evasion performance. It was also equipped with a jamming device to nullify missiles and an anti-beam coating to reduce beam damage. Its strongest weapon, the "Breaker", is a cool armament reminiscent of the Gundam series' funnels, boasting powerful features such as post-movement attack capability, a long range of 2-6, and immunity to being shot down.
The first-ever three-dimensional rendition, the "HG Ashsaber", is produced using multi-color molded parts, largely recreating the unit's design artwork. It features excellent articulation design, typical of modern HG standards, allowing for dynamic poses such as gun-wielding and sword-slashing. The product also includes a clear display stand that can connect to an articulated arm to showcase the unit.
Its most distinctive and powerful weapon, the "Breaker", can separate from both shoulders and extend its tip to recreate its firing state, complete with an included dedicated display stand to depict launch scenes. The handheld "Giga Flail Cannon" can extend its barrel to recreate its firing state, and the "Flame Dagger Missile" hidden in its chest can be recreated in its warhead-deployed state using replacement parts. Furthermore, a rich array of armaments such as the "Laser Sword" and "Rapier Machine Gun" are included for interchangeable equipment!
