Amidst a growing slate of PlayStation game adaptations heading to screens—including "Ghost of Tsushima," "Helldivers," and "Horizon Zero Dawn"—Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) took to the first day of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to drop a brand-new trailer for the highly anticipated second season of its live-action series, "The Last of Us."

While an exact premiere date remains under wraps, the official announcement confirmed that the series will return to the Max streaming platform (formerly HBO Max) in April 2025. Season 2 will pick up where the first left off, further expanding on the narrative of the 2020 video game "The Last of Us Part II." The new trailer offers another glimpse of Golden Globe nominee Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, and notably features her voice for the very first time.
