Last year marked a significant breakout for Glen Powell. After first entering the mainstream consciousness three years ago with his role as "Hangman" in "Top Gun: Maverick," Powell followed up with a string of three highly successful starring vehicles in 2025.
Early last year, "Anyone but You" became a global box office hit, grossing over $200 million worldwide. This was followed by "Hit Man," which earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy. Then, the summer blockbuster "Twisters" stormed the global box office with $370 million. Hollywood is clearly championing Powell, and his trajectory shows no signs of slowing down.

Universal Pictures recently announced a first-look production deal with Powell and his production company, Barnstorm. Under the agreement, Universal will have the first right to consider any projects Powell and his company wish to develop. "Twisters," one of Powell's major hits last year, was distributed by Universal. In a statement, Powell expressed his ambition for Barnstorm to become a hub for producing world-class theatrical entertainment.
Beyond Universal, other studios are also eager to cast Powell in major blockbusters. He is set to star in a new adaptation of "The Running Man," slated for release by Paramount Pictures on November 7, 2026. Additionally, an untitled sci-fi film directed by J.J. Abrams is in the works with Warner Bros. Pictures. Powell's career prospects are undeniably bright.
