Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's collector toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, is commemorating the 50th anniversary of its popular die-cast toy "Chogokin" series by releasing the 'Chogokin Robocon 50th Anniversary Revival Version' from the classic tokusatsu series Ganbare!! Robocon! The suggested retail price is 13,750 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in August 2025.

The comedic tokusatsu series Ganbare!! Robocon, originally created by Shotaro Ishinomori, is set in a "Robot School" that dispatches student robots to serve human society. The protagonist, G-class robot Robocon, strives to earn good grades and accumulate heart marks to achieve his dream of becoming an A-class robot! However, the often-troublesome Robocon frequently encounters setbacks. Fortunately, the unadopted Robocon doesn't give up and eventually meets the Oyama family, where a cute and humorous family comedy unfolds.

Making a comeback after half a century, the 'Chogokin Robocon 50th Anniversary Revival Version' is based on the popular "Chogokin GA-14 Robocon" released by toy company POPY in 1974. It retains the nostalgic design, with the body made of die-cast alloy, and the arms and legs crafted from metal pipes, creating a substantial, heavy feel! Opening the chest hatch reveals the internal mechanisms. The color of the legs has been changed to silver, and the heart mark has been updated to pink.

It also includes three rival cockroach figures, but Robocon doesn't like them...

Internally, a new spring mechanism serves as the power source. By detaching the legs and attaching wheels, you can enjoy a leisurely forward movement action via a pull-back mechanism, giving it a charming, childlike cuteness! Additionally, there's a propeller on the back, allowing for a flight mode display.
