Gundam DynamesSAGA

We've long grown accustomed to a continuous stream of similar-looking mobile suits, with minor cosmetic changes, added equipment, and slight stylistic alterations, leading to yet another new toy... However, this time, Dynames SAGA offers more than just that. Let's dive into the report immediately.

1. The Mobile Suit Features Multiple New Designs

Upon its release, comparisons with the original Dynames are inevitable, and the differences between the two are quite significant. First is the head design; the SAGA features a larger scope on its head, which can be directly lowered for aiming. The head also incorporates some new designs, which are quite effective.

A particularly distinctive aspect is its color scheme. Compared to the original Dynames, the SAGA retains white and green as its primary colors, but with the addition of asymmetrical elements. Its right arm and left leg feature entirely new color components, giving the entire mobile suit an interesting asymmetrical appeal.

Next are the distinct features of other parts. While the SAGA, like the original Dynames, has armor, the SAGA's armor is transparent. If you ask me which is better? Honestly, from a photography and playability perspective, solid colors seem slightly preferable (offering more ways to pose). Of course, having a transparent option to play with is also a nice addition!

As for other sections, such as the skirt armor, the front skirt armor is also asymmetrical. The right side features a missile launcher. The rear skirt armor of the SAGA is noticeably larger than that of the original Dynames and can also be used to mount weapons from above.

However, when weapons are mounted on the skirt armor, they tend to fall off easily, which was quite a headache for me!

Another distinctive feature is the small shield on the left shoulder, which can be placed on the shoulder or held by hand. However, I did not pose it in a handheld state.

2. Weaponry Features

Like the original Dynames, the SAGA is equipped with close-combat weapons, including two pistols and two axe-pistols. The pistols and their magazines can be attached to the sides of the calves. As for the axe-pistols, they can be mounted on the left and right skirt armor or next to the rear skirt thrusters.

These axes are quite interesting to pose with.

The rear skirt armor also features two beam sabers, which I did not explore in detail.

The SAGA is equipped with mid-range weapons, including a submachine gun and a long rifle. The submachine gun can be mounted on the knee;

As for the long rifle, it can be placed on the shoulder or on the rear skirt thrusters, offering quite versatile mounting options. For handheld use, it can be held with one or two hands without issue.

When posing this toy, I personally prefer a lighter loadout without the full armor. This is because the armor restricts some range of motion, and having the firearms directly mounted on the body gives it a more rugged appearance.

Overall, due to the altered appearance and different armaments, the play experience is quite distinct from the original Dynames. There's no need to worry about feeling like you're playing with the same mobile suit twice.
