The popular Tokusatsu and Kaiju-themed soft vinyl toy series 『MOVIE MONSTER』, released by Bandai Co., Ltd. of Japan, announced the upcoming release of its latest product, "Hedorah Matcha Dessert Color ver.", which will be sold exclusively at the official specialty store GODZILLA STORE, scheduled for February 14, 2025.
The pollution monster "Hedorah", which appeared in the film "Godzilla vs. Hedorah", is a mineral lifeform from space that, upon arriving on Earth, was affected by human environmental pollution. It grew into a giant by continuously aggregating countless tadpole-like individuals and absorbing pollutants such as sludge and exhaust gases. Its body is composed of highly toxic sludge, rendering most physical attacks ineffective. Its toxicity is so potent that it can even dissolve Godzilla's skin.
Although Hedorah's suit design in the film was not particularly appealing, when transformed into a soft vinyl toy, it allows for full creative expression, painting its originally mud-like, fluid body with various vibrant colors. The newly released "Hedorah Matcha Dessert Color ver." follows this selling point, featuring a transparent molded Hedorah body painted with a gradient of light to dark green and gold accents, expressing the varying intensity of matcha and the luxurious dessert texture of gold leaf.
