Released by BANPRESTO, a prize figure brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the "VIBRATION STARS" product series, which features characters in dynamic poses as they unleash their moves, will launch its latest item in July 2025: the "Taro Sakamoto II" figure, from Japanese manga artist Yuto Suzuki's "SAKAMOTO DAYS". The store manager has quietly slimmed down!
The protagonist of "SAKAMOTO DAYS" is Taro Sakamoto, once the strongest assassin. He not only struck fear into the hearts of all villains but was also revered as an idol by professional assassins. However, a storm of love suddenly swept over him one day. Sakamoto instantly fell in love upon seeing Aoi, a convenience store clerk at the time. They quickly fell in love, married, had a daughter named Hana, and then he gained weight. But with the arrival of Shin Asakura, a boy with telepathic abilities, Sakamoto's ordinary life, which began after he retired from his assassin career, started to unravel. After a five-year hiatus, Sakamoto must once again confront various formidable enemies, but this time, he must uphold his vow to Aoi not to kill.
Compared to the "VIBRATION STARS - Taro Sakamoto - II" and the Taro Sakamoto released earlier in January, although both are wearing casual clothes and the Sakamoto Store apron and display dynamic attacking poses, there's truly a feeling of "super cool assassin" versus "just a very agile ordinary middle-aged man" (even though both are 27 years old)! The "Taro Sakamoto II" can be described as the slimmed-down version, executing a powerful kick. Not only are the eyes, white hair, and clothing wrinkles meticulously depicted, but the apron, sculpted with a strong sense of motion, also greatly enhances the figure's dynamism. Displaying both figures together would be quite interesting!
