Japanese model manufacturer Max Factory's figma action figure series, following "2B", is once again releasing a new product based on the popular anime "NieR:Automata Ver1.1a" – the "A2 (YoRHa Type A No. 2)" action figure. The suggested retail price is 12,800 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in January 2026!
The TV anime "NieR:Automata Ver1.1a", which began airing in 2023 and was produced by A-1 Pictures, is an adaptation of "NieR:Automata", a spin-off of the "Drakengard" series developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix. YoRHa Type A No. 2 (A2 for short), one of the three main protagonists in the series, is a YoRHa attack-type prototype unit. She is enhanced for close-quarters combat and possesses an arrogant and aloof personality, yet also has a more casual side, unlike the serious 2B.
This figma A2 stands approximately 16 cm tall. The sculpting faithfully recreates the decorations and wrinkles of her battle attire, with the slender waist, thighs, and curves of her hips all delicately rendered. Details such as the mole at the corner of her mouth and the markings on her body are also faithfully painted! The joints are subtly integrated for articulation, and her hair can be switched between long and and short styles using interchangeable parts. Accessories also include three interchangeable face plates, three sets of interchangeable hands, and two weapons: the Type-40 Tactical Sword and the Type-40 Blade. These can be combined with her flexible articulation to recreate her various fierce and alluring poses!
