S.H.Figuarts, the action figure brand released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., is once again launching a new product from the "Kaiju No. 8" series — the "Hibino Kafka" action figure. It has a suggested retail price of 9,900 JPY and is scheduled for release in August 2025!
"Kaiju No. 8" is a manga series created by Japanese manga artist Naoya Matsumoto, serialized on the online manga platform "Shonen Jump+". In 2024, it was adapted into an anime series by Production I.G. The story follows Kafka Hibino, who works for a kaiju corpse clean-up company. In the past, he and his childhood friend Mina Ashiro promised to become members of the Defense Force together to eliminate all kaiju, but for various reasons, he gave up on this dream. By chance, Kafka gained the ability to transform into the powerful "Kaiju No. 8". With the encouragement and assistance of his new colleague Reno Ichikawa, he decided to once again pursue his goal of becoming a Defense Force member and fighting alongside Mina.
This S.H.Figuarts Hibino Kafka stands approximately 16 cm tall. It features Kafka in his pre-transformation form as an action figure, depicting him wearing his Cloud Technology combat suit, faithfully recreating his robust and upright physique. Various design details on the combat suit, including the engravings and emblems on the armor, are meticulously sculpted and reproduced! Accessories include two sets of interchangeable hands, two interchangeable face parts, a pistol, and an empty holster. These can be combined with the figure's flexible articulation to create various cool poses! Furthermore, this release also includes special effects parts for Kaiju No. 8 and a replacement right hand part. These can be used with the previously released Kaiju No. 8 to recreate both pre- and post-transformation poses!
