BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan has announced the latest product from its "HG (High Grade)" Gunpla series, which boasts the most comprehensive range of mobile suits and faithfully recreates their anime appearances: the "HG 1/144 Gundam Plutone Black", scheduled for release in June 2025.
First appearing in "Mobile Suit Gundam 00F", the GNY-004B Gundam Plutone Black is a mobile suit replicated by the Innovators based on data from Veda's "GNY-004 Gundam Plutone". Aside from its armor being repainted black and utilizing a limited pseudo-solar reactor, its overall performance is identical to the original Gundam Plutone, and it employs the latest technology to realize the "GN Field" which was incomplete at the time.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Plutone Black" is a modification of the previously released "HG 1/144 Gundam Plutone", utilizing new molded color parts to recreate its jet-black exterior. The distinctive GN Particle supply cables on the back are made of soft material to reduce interference with various points of articulation. Furthermore, the model faithfully recreates the separation of the core fighter from the main body; by separating the chest cockpit and the back solar reactor, a complete core fighter can be reproduced using interchangeable parts.
The arms feature a flexible multi-joint design and pull-out mechanisms, allowing for the recreation of expanding external armor. The knees also incorporate multi-joints to enhance articulation, while also reproducing the beam saber's storage mechanism. The weaponry includes the GN Beam Rifle, GN Beam Sabers, and GN Shield, with beam saber effects provided in both long and short sizes.
