GASHAPON 'Bitterly Waiting: In the Case of Balls' Gashapon Series: Why Is No One Playing With Me??! (Machibouke Ball no Baai)

GASHAPON, the highly popular "Bitterly Waiting" (tentative translation, Machibouke) toy series from Bandai Co., Ltd.'s Gashapon division, is set to release its latest product, "Bitterly Waiting: In the Case of Balls" (tentative translation, Machibouke Ball no Baai), in the third week of this April! There are four styles to collect, with a suggested retail price of 300 Japanese Yen per capsule.

Machibouke is a children's song composed by Kosaku Yamada with lyrics by Hakushu Kitahara, published in 1924. The lyrics essentially tell the story of a farmer diligently working one day when a rabbit suddenly jumps out and hits a tree trunk... This is the story of "waiting by the stump for a rabbit" from Han Fei Zi's "The Five Vermin" chapter; and in Japanese, Machibouke means to wait, or to wait in vain.

Whether it's classic animated characters or inanimate objects and food, the GASHAPON Bitterly Waiting series always seems to exude a subtle sense of melancholy. This time, the featured "balls" give off an aura of "Why isn't anyone playing with me?", becoming cuter the more you look at them! And because of their round shape, their 4.5 cm size feels even more substantial in the palm of your hand! This collection includes four types: basketball, soccer ball, tennis ball, and baseball. No matter which one you get, you're sure to take some interesting photos! Next time you encounter a sunset, take these little balls out to play on the sports field!
