The official "Neon Genesis Evangelion" fashion brand, RADIO EVA, has teamed up with renowned sportswear giant FILA multiple times before, and their collaborative apparel and footwear lines have consistently been a massive hit with fans.
Now, they're back at it again! To celebrate "Neon Genesis Evangelion"'s 30th anniversary, FILA and RADIO EVA are dropping their fourth limited-edition sneaker collaboration, featuring brand-new illustrations by animator Naoyuki Asano. Pre-orders are open now, priced at 19,800 JPY.
Staying true to RADIO EVA's core concept of "EVA in everyday life," the designs imagine the characters rocking stylish casual wear on the streets. Many of the outfits seen on the characters will also be released by RADIO EVA, showcasing the immense versatility of the Evangelion IP.
For this latest drop, animator Naoyuki Asano, known for his work on "Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone" and "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time," has crafted fresh illustrations. These stunning visuals feature Rei Ayanami and Asuka in their casual threads, sporting the new kicks and highlighting both the characters' charm and the sneakers' appeal.
This collaboration spotlights the retro running shoe "VENOM," originally launched in 1994, with its design inspired by a venomous snake's sharp fangs. The upper features a multi-layered, angular structure, and the plastic logo on the heel retains that classic '90s vibe. Now, RADIO EVA has infused this iconic silhouette with a full dose of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" flair, transforming it into a fresh new classic.
This collection drops in three colorways, each themed after an EVA unit: Unit-01, Unit-02, and Unit-00.
