Kojima Productions' highly anticipated sequel, "Death Stranding 2: On the Beach," is gearing up for its PS5 launch on June 26, 2025. Today at Summer Game Fest, game director Hideo Kojima himself took the stage to debut the game's latest footage, introduce two brand-new characters, and further unveil the emotional core of the story.

The new footage introduces two fresh faces: Lucy, portrayed by acclaimed German director and actress Alissa Jung, and Neil, played by Italian actor Luca Marinelli.
Neil is a porter, just like series protagonist Sam Porter Bridges. He and Lucy share a powerful connection due to identical markings on their hands, leading to an intense emotional exchange. Neil appears to recognize Lucy, while Lucy herself is clearly tormented by a past event. Kojima noted that Neil will carry a dramatic and emotional weight similar to the character portrayed by Mads Mikkelsen in the previous game.
"Death Stranding 2: On the Beach" is set years after the original game's conclusion, with protagonists Sam and Fragile embarking on another journey. Last September, Kojima Productions already teased some game content, including a bizarre photo mode, dancing puppets, and the character Tarman, played by "Mad Max" director George Miller. New characters like Tomorrow, played by Elle Fanning, and Rainy, portrayed by Shioli Kutsuna, are also set to appear.
