Nintendo's next-gen console, the Nintendo Switch 2, officially launched on June 5, 2025. Recently, the company issued a special safety reminder regarding the screen, noting that the device's surface is covered with a "shatter-proof film" designed to prevent glass shards from flying off and injuring users if the screen breaks. Nintendo explicitly warned users not to remove it themselves. However, renowned tech YouTuber JerryRigEverything decided to do the exact opposite, conducting an extreme destruction test that left even him utterly astonished.

In his video, Jerry first peeled off Nintendo's specially designed protective film. After thoroughly disassembling the Joy-Con controllers, he moved on to a durability test of the main console body. Wielding a large pair of pliers, he repeatedly struck the Switch 2 screen. The screen endured numerous heavy blows without any damage, finally shattering only after the 50th hit.
"If that doesn't give you confidence in the Switch 2's durability, then nothing will," Jerry stated. He also confirmed that Nintendo's warning about the risk of shattered glass is indeed valid. The footage clearly showed that once the protective film was removed, the glass exploded into sharp, needle-like fragments.

"These shards could stab children's fingers or eyes. I'm glad Nintendo put this protection on, everyone absolutely shouldn't peel it off themselves," he cautioned.
Even more impressively, after the screen shattered and temporarily stopped functioning, the Switch 2 sprang back to life after a simple restart. Jerry ultimately declared, "This console is almost indestructible," leaving countless netizens thoroughly impressed by its robust build quality.
