Nintendo Switch 2's Wheelchair Basketball Title "Drag x Drive" Scores Release Date, Promises Innovative Joy-Con 2 Controls!

Nintendo just dropped some fresh news today (the 25th) via its "Nintendo Today" app: the motion-controlled basketball game "Drag x Drive" is officially hitting the Nintendo Switch 2 on August 14, 2025! This innovative title puts a unique spin on the genre, focusing on "wheelchair basketball" and using the new Joy-Con 2 controllers to simulate wheelchair movement, promising players an unparalleled competitive thrill.

According to earlier official info, players will wield both Joy-Con 2 controllers, using their "mouse control" functionality to slide them back and forth, mimicking wheelchair propulsion. When it's time to shoot, you'll physically raise the controllers to sink that basket! This game is shaping up to deliver a fresh blend of motion sensing and competitive sports action.

"Drag x Drive" is currently confirmed for 3v3 online battles, though Nintendo hasn't spilled the beans yet on whether we'll see single-player modes or different team sizes. Gaming outlet VGC got their hands on a Switch 2 demo back in April and raved about the controls, calling them "nearly perfect" and even leaving them "satisfied in a fun kind of exhaustion."

While "Drag x Drive" doesn't have a price tag yet, its unique blend of motion controls and basketball action has already grabbed tons of player attention, making it one of the most anticipated new titles for the Nintendo Switch 2.
