Legendary game creator Hideo Kojima recently spilled the beans in an interview with Japanese media outlet GameSpark, revealing that every single easter egg related to him in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was personally inserted by the man himself. He jokingly admitted that whenever he asked his staff to help out, they'd just play dumb, pretending they had no idea what he was talking about.

"I put all these things in myself," Kojima stated. "Even when I tell the staff, 'Please, just put it in!', they just go 'Huh?' and then act like nothing happened (laughs)."
One of the latest easter eggs features him appearing as a "constellation" in the game's night sky. He self-deprecatingly quipped, "Some people might find that a bit annoying (laughs)."
Kojima has always been a master at weaving personal details and homages into his games. Even in the original "Death Stranding," players could spot him as a hologram in protagonist Sam's private room. And if you aimed the camera at Sam's bare feet, Kojima would even appear covered in black tar!

Back when he was at Konami, working on "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," players could even "rescue" Kojima himself in a side mission. He also made a brief appearance in the prologue, "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes."
Beyond his own creations, Kojima has also popped up in games by his pals. He made a cameo at the Konpeki Plaza in early "Cyberpunk 2077," and appeared as Dr. Yoshimi Tokui in "Control." In a fun exchange, Remedy's Creative Director Sam Lake also made a cameo in "Death Stranding."
For fans, Kojima's easter eggs are an essential part of the fun in his works. Now that "Death Stranding 2" is officially here, hunting down his starry constellation in the night sky has become the latest challenge for players.
