"I'll Turn Animals into Bones": Skeleton Specimen VTuber's Wild Marriage Ad Goes Viral, Fans Joke: "Will Her Husband Become a Specimen Too?"

The VTuber phenomenon has been absolutely red-hot in recent years. Beyond its stronghold in Japan, it's showing signs of booming in other countries like China and the US, with professionals from all walks of life eager to get a piece of the action. That's how massive this trend is.

Recently on Japan's X, VTuber Shikauba Nanuno (@nanuno777), known for her expertise in making "bone specimens," sparked intense buzz with a wild marriage ad that declared: "I'll turn animals into bones." Paired with striking, intense photos, the post instantly blew up online.

In VTuber Shikauba Nanuno's photo, she霸氣的手持菜刀, wielding a kitchen knife with fierce confidence, with animal bones laid out below her. The whole scene looked like something out of a wild animal slaughterhouse. Her post read: "【Seeking Husband】I turn animals into bones." Simple and direct, yet incredibly memorable.

This was her "marriage ad promo shot." While others might say they can cook, have a stable job, or love kids, she's out here saying, "I make bone specimens." Seems totally fine, right?

Shikauba Nanuno is actually a liberal arts university student, but in her free time, she shares bone specimen tutorial videos online and even livestreams animal dissection and processing. The title "bone specimen artist" is actually one she coined herself.

Making bone specimens is a delicate craft that requires meticulous skill and specialized knowledge. You'd think she had a science background, but nope, she's completely self-taught, stating: "I just figure things out on my own; normally, I'm just a regular liberal arts student."

▼ She often livestreams her bone-making work.

But what's most surprising is that when asked about the appeal of making bone specimens, she said, "Honestly, I don't think bones themselves have any inherent value."

She's never bought bones and doesn't have any particular bones she wants to collect. The only things she'd be reluctant to part with are meaningful items like "pet skulls or whale ribs." For her, the focus isn't on the bones themselves at all; the process of "focusing on meticulous work" is what she finds most enjoyable.

Because the post blew up so much, Shikauba held a livestream the next day titled "So many people applied to be my husband, so I'm holding an info session!" On her YouTube channel, she detailed the conditions for this "husband recruitment" drive:

Unmarried male, 18 to 29 years old

Holds a standard driver's license

Willing to actively support her work (e.g., moving animal carcasses, assisting with dissection, etc.)

During the Q&A, someone asked, "Will your husband also become a specimen?" She laughed, "Nah, I prefer living people with meat on them, and humans are too big and troublesome." Another asked, "Are your ex-boyfriends still in one piece?" She quickly clarified that everyone was overstating her job, and they're all perfectly fine...

When asked, "What are the pros and cons of having a wife who makes bone specimens?" She replied, "Most people aren't VTubers or handle corpses daily, so I guess I'm an interesting girl. But as for pros... none." As for the cons, she listed them very specifically:

The fridge will be stuffed with corpses.

She'll haul dead bodies home from who-knows-where, grinning like a maniac.

During dissection, the place will reek of intense corpse odor.

Of course, this "husband recruitment" was all in jest! However, for an independent VTuber like her, going viral through a single post, especially with such a unique profession and VTuber identity, is definitely a good thing. If you're interested in bone specimens, feel free to check out her YouTube channel to watch her livestreams!
