Gunpla Master Crafts "Devil-Style GQuuuuuuX" with Sinister Makeover!

If you're into Gunpla model kits, you've probably tried all sorts of customization techniques: painting, cutting, weathering, you name it! These are all fantastic ways to make your models truly unique. And with the incredible skill of Gunpla builders, even imaginary mobile suits or cross-series mashups can come to life.

Recently, Japanese Gunpla builder Spike (@spike_0222) took to X to showcase his latest "radical custom build." He transformed the protagonist mobile suit Gunpla, the "HG 1/144 GQuuuuuuX" from "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," into a wicked devil-style machine. Its fierce new look has captivated netizens, with the exquisite craftsmanship leaving everyone stunned.

Spike is no stranger to the Gunpla scene; he was the runner-up at the 10th Gunpla Builders World Cup (GBWC) 2022 Japan competition. He also runs a YouTube channel, "Spike – Spike Studio –," where he frequently shares his amazing creations.

For this build, he tackled the "HG 1/144 GQuuuuuuX." While the original sported the classic red, blue, and white color scheme, Spike's masterful touch, through custom painting and a clever combination of various Gunpla parts, transformed it into a sinister, devil-style mobile suit dominated by dark red and purple hues!

Check out the insane custom details:

▼ Forearms: Longer than the original, these were swapped out with arms from the "HG 1/144 Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex."

▼ Wings: Sourced from the backpack parts of the "RG 1/144 Tallgeese II."

▼ Tail: A hole was drilled into the model's rear to attach this chuunibyou-inspired tail, custom-built from the Tallgeese II's Heat Rod and shield.

▼ Head: Features a golden devil horn mask from the "30MF Class Up Armor (Rosan Warrior)," instantly giving it a devilish aura.

The completed Devil-Style GQuuuuuuX isn't just killer in looks; it exudes an entirely different, menacing aura compared to its original form. You can catch the full build and painting process in the complete video below!
