Akihito Tsukushi's "Made in Abyss" has always been a fan favorite, despite its terrifying themes. Its intricate plot and the unfathomable depths of the Abyss, all wrapped up in deceptively cute character designs, make it a truly unique fantasy.
Yesterday (8/7), the official channels announced that "Made in Abyss" is officially getting a theatrical anime series! The first film, tentatively titled "Made in Abyss: Awakening of the Mystery" (メイドインアビス目覚める神秘), is slated for a 2026 release!

Previously, "Made in Abyss" has delivered two TV anime seasons and one feature film:
2017: TV Anime Season 1 "Made in Abyss"
2020: Feature Film "Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul"
2022: TV Anime Season 2 "Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun"
This new film, "Made in Abyss: Awakening of the Mystery," serves as a direct sequel to the second TV anime season. Animation duties will once again be handled by series veterans, Kinema Citrus.

Alongside the theatrical series announcement, an exciting new teaser visual has dropped! It features the Delver-exclusive bar "The Falling Star Tavern" and introduces new characters, Tepast and Kravali.
Fans have been clamoring for a sequel, and what a surprise to see it arrive as a theatrical series! With more films potentially on the horizon, keep an eye out for further official announcements!
