Japanese select shop Atoms is known for its frequent collaborations with major brands, with many limited-edition apparel and footwear items quickly selling out.
Now, Atoms is teaming up with the late director Satoshi Kon's iconic film, "Perfect Blue", for a new line of collab T-shirts, set to open for pre-orders soon. To celebrate this epic partnership, the classic film will also get a limited three-day theatrical re-release at Human Trust Cinema Shibuya in Tokyo, running from September 12th to 14th.

Animation legend "Satoshi Kon" initially started his career as a manga artist. He later joined Katsuhiro Otomo's production team, where he began working on animated films before deciding to direct his own.
In 1997, he released his debut animated feature, "Perfect Blue", which garnered widespread acclaim for its realistic and thrilling portrayal. His subsequent works, "Millennium Actress", "Tokyo Godfathers", and "Paranoia Agent", were also highly praised, solidifying his status in the animation film industry. His final film, "Paprika", was a passion project that explored the boundaries between imagination and reality, influencing numerous dream-themed works that followed. Tragically, Satoshi Kon was diagnosed with late-stage pancreatic cancer in 2010 and passed away that August at the age of 46.

The collab T-shirt collection features four designs, boldly showcasing the film's original release logo, key visuals, and scanned frames from iconic scenes. To perfectly capture that '90s release nostalgia, the entire series is meticulously produced in Japan using high-spec techniques like screen printing and inkjet printing. Each tee will retail for 8,800 JPY (tax included).
