If you're into cosplay, the name Enako probably rings a bell. This wildly popular Japanese cosplayer has been absolutely crushing it lately, dropping albums and running a successful YouTube channel, cementing her status as Japan's top cosplayer.
Last weekend, Enako made her debut at Taiwan's Fancy Frontier 45 (FF45), marking her first visit to the island in six years! She absolutely nailed her cosplay of Dorothy from the mobile game "Goddess of Victory: NIKKE," captivating massive crowds with her stunning and accurate portrayal. Her photos quickly went viral after hitting social media.
In "Goddess of Victory: NIKKE," Dorothy was once a member of the Ark's "Goddess Squad." But after ideological clashes with the Ark, human betrayal, and the loss of squad member Lilith, she chose to leave the Ark. She then formed the new "Inheritor Squad" with other Pilgrim NIKKEs, establishing "Eden" on the surface.
While she often sports an angelic smile, Dorothy's inner world is incredibly complex and unfathomable. As players often quip, "cut open anything pink, and it's black inside" – she possesses a twisted personality that's a stark contrast to her innocent exterior.
Enako specifically prepped this Dorothy cosplay for Taiwan's Fancy Frontier. She donned Dorothy's signature white ruffled dress, complete with flowing pink hair, making her look like she stepped right out of the game – absolutely dreamy and adorable!
And of course, it wouldn't be a NIKKE cosplay without the iconic squat pose!
The massive crowds surrounding her on the grassy area outside the Expo Park that day were a testament to her insane popularity.
She also sold her photo books at the venue, interacting with plenty of fans while in character.
While many Taiwanese netizens were thrilled to see her back after six years, Japanese fans were equally envious of those who got to witness Enako's Dorothy cosplay. Comments poured in like, "An angel descended!" "Absolutely gorgeous, she's a real-life 2D character!" and "It's pure bliss to see your favorite character brought to life by your favorite cosplayer."
Given the massive turnout for her FF debut, Enako has promised to return! So, you might just catch her again at a future Fancy Frontier or other cosplay events in Taiwan!
