Your Phone Can Sleep Too? Japanese High Schooler's "Bed-Shaped Wireless Charger" Goes Viral, Now for Sale!

In this age where almost everyone has a smartphone, we're practically inseparable from our 3C gadgets – phones, earphones, even smartwatches. Beyond just carrying them, the biggest fear is running out of juice, making a power bank an absolute must-have.

A recent creative invention has been blowing up on X (formerly Twitter) in Japan! Inspired by the idea of "charging your phone by your bedside before sleep," creator 高校生の電子工作日記 (@hdiv6xeWxcLUS51) whipped up an adorable "bed-shaped wireless charger." It's captured tons of attention, with many netizens clamoring to buy one because, let's be real, this idea is just too cute!

The creator, a high school student who runs the "High Schooler's Electronic Work Diary" account, got his eureka moment from the thought: "A phone's rest is charging, a human's rest is sleeping in a bed." So, he wondered, "Wouldn't it be fun if phones could also 'sleep' in a bed while charging?"

After several prototypes, the "bed-shaped wireless charger" was finally born. It genuinely looks like a miniature bed, complete with a tiny blanket! Lift the blanket, and you'll find your phone quietly "sleeping" (aka charging). This ingenious concept has won over netizens, who can't get enough of its cuteness.

But this isn't just a pretty face – it's got practical smarts too! The pillow area has built-in NFC. Just place your phone on it, and it automatically triggers designated actions. Think: switching to sleep mode, setting alarms... It's not just about charging; it handles your entire pre-sleep routine in one go.

The mini-bed's design is super thoughtful too. You can still see the clock through the blanket, it uses the common Type-C charging port, and while the blanket isn't strictly necessary, covering your phone with it just feels incredibly therapeutic.

You can also take the blanket off!

The entire charger is made from 3D-printed parts and took about 4 hours to complete. The creator is thrilled with it after testing, even suggesting it would make a "great birthday gift for friends."

Currently, this "bed-shaped wireless charger" is available for purchase on BOOTH for 5900 JPY, made to order. It even supports the latest Qi2 wireless charging standard, so even the newest phones can use it. It's truly impressive that a high school student came up with such a creative way to bring the "tuck your phone into bed" therapeutic feeling into daily life. Perhaps soon, "putting your phone to sleep" will become just another way of saying "charging"!
