The "Detective Conan" movies are a yearly tradition, and this year's 28th installment, "Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram," absolutely crushed it at the box office, raking in over 14.4 billion yen. Its massive popularity is undeniable!
But the official team is already gearing up for next year's movie! Today (August 31), they officially revealed that the 29th film will center around the Kanagawa Prefectural Police's "Goddess of the Wind," Chihaya Hagiwara. They also confirmed that the late Atsuko Tanaka, who sadly passed away, will be succeeded by Miyuki Sawashiro for the voice role.

The official team dropped a super-early teaser trailer for the 29th movie! (Of course, if you stuck around for the post-credits scene of "Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram," you already know who the next main character is.) This time, it's Chihaya Hagiwara, the "Goddess of the Wind" from the Kanagawa Prefectural Police Traffic Department. She's an absolute ace on a motorcycle, once even pulling off a wheelie to help Conan find a target and saving him from a sticky situation. She's definitely a fan favorite among Conan enthusiasts!

However, the previous voice of Chihaya Hagiwara in the anime was none other than veteran voice actress Atsuko Tanaka, who sadly passed away last August. This was truly heartbreaking news for many fans.
Today, the official announcement confirmed that Miyuki Sawashiro will take over the voice role. Sawashiro specifically stated, "I deeply admire Atsuko Tanaka-sensei," paying her utmost respect to her predecessor. Given Sawashiro's impressive track record and experience, fans are incredibly confident in this new casting.

While the official title and further details are still under wraps, we're sure they'll be revealed soon. Conan fans, get ready for more surprises from the official team!
