Artist Unleashes Mind-Blowing Illustration-Style Paint Job on a Tiny 3.8cm 'God Gundam' SD Candy Toy – You Can Almost Feel the Shining Finger Burn!

If you're into Gunpla, chances are you've dabbled in all sorts of customization – painting, cutting, weathering, you name it – to make your models truly pop. But what about candy toys? Yep, some folks even tackle those.

This time, we're diving into a candy toy masterpiece! Remember model maestro Nicovol (@nicovol48), who previously wowed us with his illustration-style paint job on an old 'GM Sniper' model? He's back at it, showing off his incredible skills once again. This time, he's taken on Bandai's 'GUNDAM SUPERIOR DIFAIN' series 'God Gundam,' transforming the SD Gundam into something truly spectacular that has netizens raving.

Bandai's 'GUNDAM SUPERIOR DIFAIN' series focuses on SD-scale 'Gundam' candy toys, packing intricate Mobile Suit details into a mere 38mm height. Much like the 'GUNDAM ARTIFACT' line, these non-articulated models come in an earthy yellow, resin-like molded color, giving them the premium feel of a garage kit – perfect for modelers to unleash their painting prowess.

And of course, it didn't take long for Nicovol to get his hands on this newly released kit. Being a massive fan of 'Mobile Fighter G Gundam,' he poured even more passion than usual into this paint job!

Sticking to his signature illustration style, he meticulously worked on it, capturing shots from various angles. The back was also painted, but due to its naturally darker areas and the shadows cast by the halo, it ended up looking a bit too dark. A slight shame given the tiny scale, but he's still pretty happy with the result.

Nicovol shared that he'd be absolutely thrilled if people felt like this God Gundam's 'Shining Finger' was truly bursting with burning light! As for the eyes, he painted them to his own liking, embracing the charmingly cute aesthetic of SD Gundams.

Now, let's check out the before-and-after comparison photos! Nicovol mentioned that the model's design is undeniably cool, even if it's smaller than he expected. The details are incredibly precise, making the painting process quite challenging, but he wholeheartedly recommends it.

Nicovol regularly shares his many amazing and creatively painted works on his X account. If you're a fan of models or Gundam, be sure to check them out for some serious painting and customization inspiration!
